I’m pretty sure a talent bomb just exploded in this blog post!
I recently had the pleasure of working alongside some dynamite women in a short film for Jan Logan‘s 25th Anniversary. A film made by women, for women, about women, starring women. We need more of this in the world! And guess what?! The film was directed by the unstoppable, formidable and former “Peanut Muse” Miss. Rachael Taylor.
So aside from making a wee cameo in the film myself, I also got to capture all the behind the scenes goodness direct from my lens to you! I personally love a sneaky “behind the scenes” moment. It’s like having a gold ticket to a members only secret society. I’m that chick who watches every last second of additional footage you get in the “special features” that comes with a DVD. Yup! As much as I love a finished product, life is all about the journey. So allow me to share with you my behind the scenes photo diary…
But wait! Before we get to all the photos, let me enlighten you with a little history on how this collaboration between Jan Logan and Rachael Taylor came to be…
Jan Logan jewellery is known for its enduring relationship with all things “Hollywood Ingenue”, having aligned itself with several young hollywood actresses since 2001. And as a former Ambassador herself, Rachael Taylor now finds herself exploring a director’s journey reflecting on her own experience of the “ingenue” in this exclusive film. A rather perfect fit if you ask me!
Rachael says :
“The film takes place over one typical LA day for a young Australian girl on the “make”; a stranger in a strange land. You wake up, you waste time, you get stuck in vanity, you worry, you feel disconnected from your home, you medicate, you look for work, for validation, you aspire, you dream, you starve, you find a boy to mess around with. And then you get back to trying to keep the narrative of what you tell yourself about yourself afloat, and win at all costs. But you have a terrific time while you do all this, because youth is very forgiving and deceiving yourself can be great fun. If you are lucky, you can arrive at a place of honesty about this process and you can see it for what it is and fall in love with it all over again.”
