I met Charlotte at a typical LA gathering where small worlds collide and all of a sudden it’s 2 degrees of separation with a long list of friends in common. Let’s just say Facebook would suggest us to be friends. Looking back, of course our meeting was inevitable.
I was immediately drawn to Charlotte’s being. She has this crazy captivating face (one that should breed all the confidence in the world) and yet, Charlotte is endearingly etched with a sweet shyness. You find yourself leaning in to hear her speak, hungry to learn more.
It wasn’t long before I scratched the surface of her gentle exterior to uncover a wickedly intelligent and worldly young individual. She has forthright opinions on art, the Hollywood scene, culture and storytelling. So of course it was no surprise to me that when we decided to shoot together, Charlotte chose the LACMA as our setting. (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). And I knew instantly that the iconic “URBAN LIGHT” lamp posts would be our playground.
As with all my shoots, we shot casually on the fly amongst the bustling tourists, tripping over children with wide eyes drawn to the girl with the rabbit ears. Needless to say, it was bundles of fun.
I hope you enjoy the photos and get lost in this twisted modern day tale of Charlotte down the rabbit hole.
